The Alta Langa Consortium closes 2025 with a path of growth, institutional presence and consolidation of the designation, confirming ever more strongly the role of Piedmontese sparkling wines as a benchmark for the Italian classic method.<\/p>\n

Digital and training projects<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The year 2025 began with the launch of the Alta Langa Academy<\/a> website: a tool designed to fully enhance the history, territory and identity of Alta Langa DOCG, accessible to all enthusiasts. It is the result of extensive research and technical, historical and cultural analysis.<\/p>\n

Events and initiatives in 2025<\/strong><\/h2>\n

In February, the Consortium took part in the Slow Wine Fair 2025<\/strong> in Bologna with a collective of 18 producers and a well-attended masterclass.<\/p>\n

In Turin, La Prima dell’Alta Langa<\/strong> took place at the beginning of March at the Nuvola Lavazza with 82 producers and over 20,000 toasts, the richest and most popular edition ever. It was in this context that Alta Langa DOCG was proclaimed Wine of the Year 2025 for the Piedmont Region<\/strong> by the Councillor for Agriculture, Paolo Bongioanni.<\/p>\n

As Wine of the Year 2025, Alta Langa was invited to participate in numerous events with the Piedmont Region: in Osaka, Japan, during Piedmont Week at Expo 2025 with a dedicated tasting workshop; in Calabria at Vinitaly and the City; in Bra for Cheese; in Turin for Artissima; and in Milan for Golosaria. During the ATP Finals in Turin, Alta Langa was the protagonist at Casa Gusto and, also in Turin, at the inaugural dinner of La Vuelta di Spagna at Palazzo Reale. The Alte Bollicine Piemontesi were also present at the \u2018Dolce Vita\u2019 event, held at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat, organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Nice.<\/p>\n

The second edition of Alta Langa Roma<\/strong> in June was also a great success in the capital, featuring a tasting for operators that involved 34 wineries. On this occasion, \u201cOnde\u201d (waves) was also presented, an installation that echoes the contour lines of the area of origin of the Denomination, designed as an iconic and narrative element of the area itself. Other events involving Alta Langa DOCG took place during the year: from the Vinum International Fair in Alba with a dedicated lounge, to the Wine for Earth event in Milan with Daniele Cernilli and Erika Mantovan, as well as tastings in Rome with Fisar, the inaugural toast at the Turin Motor Show 2025 and testimonials at the UGIVI conference in Grinzane Cavour and in Barolo on the occasion of ENO7, organised by the Barolo & Castles Foundation.<\/p>\n

Then Rome again with a very popular masterclass led by Francesco D’Agostino during SparkleDay, then Saluzzo for an evening with Ais Cuneo, Turin with Fisar Torino, Canelli Citt\u00e0 del Vino, and Alessandria for the Fiera di San Baudolino. Throughout the year, dedicated tastings were also organised for Gambero Rosso, Slow Wine, Falstaff Special, Winesurf, Winescritic, Doctorwine, and others.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of November, the Consortium hosted around twenty journalists from abroad for a two-day event dedicated to discovering Alta Langa DOCG, with an extensive technical tasting, a cooking class dedicated to pairing Alta Langa DOCG and Alba white truffles, a traditional dinner in the highlands of Langa and visits to wineries.<\/p>\n

Design, culture and collaborations<\/strong><\/h2>\n

During Fuorisalone in Milan, in collaboration with Italdesign, the Terra wine glass and the Alta Langa Frappeuse were presented.<\/p>\n

The Consortium in Turin was also the main sponsor of the Buonissima<\/strong> food festival during the Summer Edition and in autumn with the classic October event, which was a huge success with events throughout the city, great chefs and a very enthusiastic audience.<\/p>\n

For the third consecutive year, the Consortium continued its collaboration as technical partner of the Teatro Regio of Turin<\/strong>: Alta Langa DOCG was the star of the inaugural toast at the premiere of Francesca da Rimini and will accompany the theatre throughout the opera season.<\/p>\n

Finally, the Consortium renewed its collaboration with the International Alba White Truffle Fair<\/strong>, confirming its role as main sponsor and celebrating the excellence of the Alba White Truffle together with great chefs and an enthusiastic audience from all over the world, with cooking shows, masterclasses, exclusive dinners and many toasts, starting with the \u201cNew Year’s Eve of the White Truffle of Alba\u201d.<\/p>\n

2025 harvest and appellation numbers<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The 2025 harvest was described as \u201cone to remember\u201d for Alta Langa DOCG. Starting a few days early, it was favoured by spring rains that created a good water reserve and a beautiful summer, a necessary condition for healthy, high-quality harvests.<\/p>\n

The year ended with 179 members of the Consortium, including winegrowers and producers, while the number of hectares under vine rose to 500, and the number of bottles from this harvest potentially eligible for the Alta Langa DOCG designation was 3.5 million. Sales for 2025 are also positive, reaching +11.5% over the previous year and exceeding the 2 million bottle mark.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Prospects for 2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Consortium will continue its commitment to promoting, training, internationalising and enhancing the cultural value of the territory, with a programme of initiatives and events already planned for the coming months, starting at the end of January, when a meeting and in-depth discussion dedicated to foreign trade operators, \u201cAlta Langa after Grandi Langhe<\/strong>\u201d, is scheduled to take place in Turin. At the end of February, the Consortium confirms its presence at the Slow Wine Fair 2026<\/strong> in Bologna, while in the first ten days of March, there will be a presentation of Alte Bollicine Piemontesi (High Bubbles of Piedmont) in New York<\/strong>. In May, we will return to Spazio Field in Rome for the third edition of Alta Langa Roma<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
