F.lli Gancia

Cuvée 36 Mesi Alta Langa Brut

The authenticity of a vintage brut Metodo Classico (bottle fermented), from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, selected from the best vineyards of the Alta Langa Docg area and matured on the lees for more than 3 years. Elegantly wrapped in its bronze colour cover, Gancia Cuvée 36 Mesi Brut best represents the perfect union of the qualities of the Alta Langa “terroir” and its perfection over the years.

COMPOSITION OF THE CUVÉE: 80% Pinot Noir, 20% Chardonnay

PRODUCTION METHOD: A very soft pressing takes place in the Marmonnier press, located in the historical cellars built in the early 1800’s – classified today as a World Heritage site by UNESCO – where the first and best juice is vinified. Every single press and batch of juice is fermented in wood barrels and in sealed tanks, at controlled temperature, till the wines are ready for blending (cuvée). The cuvée can then be bottled and added with yeast/sugars for the second fermentation for about 40 days.
The sparkling wine can then age and mature in the Gancia cellars for at least 36 months.

TASTING NOTES: An intense straw yellow colour is typical of Gancia Alta Langa, with very elegant, rich and persistent bubbles. Gancia Cuvée 36 Mesi Brut offers a very pleasant aroma, with notes of vanilla and bread crust. Its intense, well-balanced taste and its texture add fragrance, mineral notes and a persistent, lingering aftertaste.
