Alasia Alta Langa Rosé is obtained from the vineyards of our Il Cascinone estate in Acqui Terme municipality and represents the only sparkling wine production of the estate. The vineyards are characterized by a steep slope, complex soils and a particular microclimate, a meeting point between currents of marine origin that rise from the valleys of the Erro river and Bormida river and cool breezes that descend from the Alps with a considerable temperature range between day and the night. This pedoclimatic peculiarity creates a terroir with unique characteristics.
COMPOSITION OF THE CUVÉE: The cuvée is made from 100% Pinot Noir harvested by hand in boxes from vineyards with North and East exposure at an altitude ranging from 250 and 400 m, with a plant density of 4.000- 4.500 vines per hectare. The soils are of various matrices: sandstone, alluvial gravel, clay-limestone silt and calcareous marl.
DOSAGE: Brut
PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE: Soft pressing of the grapes with short maceration with the skins, then the must is fermented at a low temperature in stainless steel vats. The tirage is carried out around February to continue with the second fermentation in the bottle followed by a period of ageing on the lees of about 48 months. The disgorgement is carried out “à la glace” and is followed by a low dosage (about 6 g/l).
OENOLOGIST’S REMARKS: Pale salmon pink with a fine mouse, aromas of ripe red berries, and gentle brioche notes. Layers of tasty strawberry, raspberry and bready characters give a broad and generous palate with a long, and persistent finish.
FIRST VINTAGE PRODUCED: 2007
