The harmony of a vintage brut Blanc de Blancs Classic Method (bottle fermented), from Chardonnay grapes, selected from the best vineyards of the Alta Langa Docg area and matured on the lees for at least 30 months. Prestigiously wrapped in its gold colour dress, Gancia Blanc de Blancs Alta Langa Brut best represents the perfect union of the qualities of the Alta Langa “terroir” and the Gancia tradition over the years.
COMPOSITION OF THE CUVÉE: Chardonnay 100%
PRODUCTION TECHNIQUE: A very soft pressing takes place in the Marmonnier press, located in the historical cellars built in the early 1800’s – classified today as a World Heritage site by UNESCO – where the first and best juice is vinified. Every single press and batch of juice is fermented in wood barrels and in sealed tanks, at controlled temperature, till the wines are ready for blending (cuvée). The cuvée can then be bottled and added with yeast/sugars for the second fermentation for about 40 days. The sparkling wine can then age and mature in the Gancia cellars for at least 30 months.
OENOLOGIST’S REMARKS: Straw yellow in colour with golden reflections and very fine and persistent perlage, Gancia Blanc de Blancs Alta Langa Brut has a pleasant and complex nose, with aromatic notes reminiscent of vanilla, yeast and bread crust. In the mouth, we find the olfactory notes combined with a balanced and decisive taste, of great freshness and structure, elegant and intense. Fragrant, mineral and pleasantly persistent aftertaste.
