Alta Langa Montelera MillesimatoD.O.C.G.

A “Millesimato” sparkling wine is rare and precious because only in exceptional years the weather finds its perfect balance, generating a unique taste and quality. The harvest is slightly anticipated to grant a fresh and vibrant taste. Grapes are gently squeezed and the fermentation is done without grape peelings.

The must, clarified by simple decantation, is fermented at a controlled temperature.

The “cuvée”, based only on selected wines of the same harvest and year (millesimo), is bottled in spring the year after.

The evolution of this sparkling wine occurs during a slow fermentation and maturation of yeast for more than 30 months. As the fermentation occurs inside each bottle the result is a long lasting wine with structured taste but at the same time with great balance and refinement.

Grapes’ area of origin: Selected vineyards of D.O.C.G. in the Langa area in which “Chardonnay” and “Pinot nero” have an extraordinary quality.

Colour: straw yellow with amber shades

Perlage: very fine and persistent

Scent: intense, rich, complex, refined and with great balance. A great harmony of fruity shades, bread crust and vanilla flavored.

Taste: full-bodied, vibrant, harmonious, rich and elegant, with good persistence and slight memory of almond.

ABV: 12% vol.

Suggested serving temperature: from 6° to 8° °C

Drinking suggestions: a refined aperitif but also perfect for an important dinner. Great with fish and shellfish dishes but reveals an unexpected match with withe truffle.
