The 2026 harvest in Alta Langa DOCG has now drawn to a close, following a campaign that began in early August with Pinot Noir and continued with Chardonnay. Overall favourable weather conditions supported steady ripening throughout the season, allowing producers to bring healthy, balanced fruit with excellent quality potential into the cellar.
The season got off to an early start after a well-hydrated autumn in 2025 and a first part of 2026 marked by good water availability. Budbreak arrived as early as the end of March, followed by a rapid progression through the main phenological stages. Summer brought largely stable conditions and limited rainfall, helping vineyards maintain good sanitary conditions and allowing growers to manage disease pressure effectively.
By July, the outlook gathered by the Consortium pointed to an earlier-than-usual harvest, with conditions particularly well suited to producing sparkling wine bases with the freshness, finesse and elegance that define the style of Alta Langa.
Harvesting officially began on August 5, with a few isolated vineyards starting as early as July 31, and was completed during the final week of the month. More than 280 wineries took part in the harvest across over 500 hectares of vineyards.
