Monsignore Winery is located in Vicoforte in the heart of the Langhe Monregalesi, a portion of Piedmont that captures the visitor because it shows a fairy-tale border Langa with a Mediterranean climate located at an average altitude of 600 metres above sea level.
Since 1916, the Blengini family has been the soul of this ancient summer residence built by the Bishop of Mondovì. Today, Giuseppe and his wife Roberta are writing a new chapter of history by creating a revolutionary project aimed at developing an area yet to be discovered. The present is called Monsignore, the bubbly of Alta Langa.
A unique, territorial, identifying and at the same time pioneering wine.
Giuseppe Blengini is a successful architect and today divides his time between Milan, Alba and Vicoforte. In 2007 he met Roberta, whose surname was Ceretto, heir of one of the oldest producers of Barolo.
In 2014, they decided to bet on Alta Langa bubbly with a bohemian-like intuition to save an agriculture, developing a terroir very different from the nearby Langa.
A veritable journey through the past, present and lots of future. An itinerary travelled enlisting various travelling companions all together they agreed on a work plan to manage the 44 hectares of land, of which 11 are currently planted with vines.
The result led to the decision to focus on Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for their first release in vintage 2017.
MONSIGNORE Alta Langa docg is a classic extra brut method composed equally of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
