Ours, is a family of vine growers since late ‘800s, when our great-great grandfather produced the first bottles of Nebbiolo and Barbera in his farmstead located in the fraction I Lioni in Canale.

1953 our grandfather Carlo, known as Carlin, with his wife Catterina, decided to establish his winery in Canale, in the heart of Roero region, continuing his family tradition.

In 1977, a young Antonio, just graduated from winemaking school in Alba, decided to follow his dad’s steps, blending to tradition his passion for white and sparkling wines. It’s from here that the first 933 bottles of Arneis San Michele were born together with the first Nebbiolo and Arneisbased sparklings. 20 years later, in 1997, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were planted and in 2000 we released the first “metodo classico” made from international varieties.

“I still remember our first few bottles of spumante; I made about 1200 of them and gave them away to friends and customers as a special gift. I got an unbelievable reaction – so many people called me to thank me and to suggest that I carry on down this path. For me, sparkling wine was little more than a hobby, a passion I had laboured over for a long time. Back then, I didn’t realise how important it would become for our winery.”

From this great passion for bubbles, in 2016 the first bottles of Alta Langa DOCG were born. Our vineyards located at altitudes between 450 and 600 m a.s.l. in the municipality of Roddino, offer wines of marked acidity, great finesse and aromatic complexity with great potential in long aging.

Since 2017 our winery is certified organic and it’s been awarded for our commitment in preserving the environment, for its ethical and social value, as well as artistic and cultural. Today, it’s the 3 of us with our mum Graziella and our dad Tony that we continue this great family
tradition, looking at the future and being respectful of nature.
