Fratelli Grimaldi

Our company Fratelli Grimaldi is situated in Santo Stefano Belbo, in the heart of the production area of Moscato d’Asti.

A tradition of production which today sees our whole family involved in the running of the 18 hectares of vineyards wholly owned, spread over four hills between the most suitable of the area: Moncucco, San Grato, San Maurizio and Bauda.
For over 30 years we mainly produce Moscato d’Asti Docg in three different types.
Since 2008, an addition to our production of a small but significant production of sparkling wine based on Pinot Nero and Chardonnay, vinified using the technique of the long Charmat method (18 months) and from 2015 we’re proud to produce our first classic method 36 months Alta Langa.

At any time of the work in our vineyards and all the activities that take place during the course of the year, we put the utmost care, from pruning to the removal of the leaves, up to the careful selection of grapes in the summer, each phase is intended to guarantee the obtaining and uniform ripening of the best bunches.
The chopping and removal of the grass in the middle of each row and also between a vine-plant and the other, then allows us to avoid the use of herbicides and therefore not to find residues in the final product.
Although the harvest is still done entirely by hand, picking grapes in crates, in this way the grapes are not stressed and ensures its integrity until arrival at the winery for de-stemming and crushing. Today, the entrance of Paolo and Ilaria in the vineyard and in the cellar, as well as in the promotion and presentation of wines, is a clear desire for continuation of our philosophy and values.
First of all, the maintenance of a strong and respectful relationship with the territory, allowing us to reconcile and which best represents the character and that expressivity that make our land unique.
