Borgo Maragliano is situated at 450 meters above sea level, on a natural terrace of the Langhe hills, in the heart of Loazzolo, close to Asti.
It is a very special place for growing grapes, crossed by the Marin, an onshore wind coming from the Mar Ligure which favors the maturation of the grapes, enhancing their aromas and fragrances. Borgo Maragliano includes an area of 44 hectares of vineyards. The characteristics of the Loazzolo terroir are unique and extraordinary: the soil is sandy, tufaceous and calcareous, so it is very permeable but free from clay; this makes it perfect for producing wines with rich and elegant aromatic qualities, that can be aged for a long time.
The vineyard altitude, the soil, extensive temperature changes, the sea wind and the presence of woods and hazelnut groves, along with favourable exposure, create the perfect alchemy to give the grapes those aromas and distinctive qualities that make Borgo Maragliano wines unique.
